A Buddha statue in Japan made from dead insects is making headlines for the gross factor. Comprised of 20,000 dead insects, the sculpture is a religious oddity in that it is honouring Buddha but comprised of the bodies of beetles and cockroaches. 4 More images after the break...
It took the artist, Inamura Yonejii, six years to catch all the bugs and finish the sculpture. The Dead Insect Buddha is on display at the Itakura Community Centre in the Gunma prefecture of Japan.
