2. K2 (Godwin Austen), Karakoram Mountains, Pakistan/ China, 28.250 ft / 8.611 m
K2 is the second highest mountain in the world after Mount Everest. With a maximum altitude of 8,611 meters (28,251 feet), K2 is part of the Karakoram range, and is situated on the border between the Tajik Autonomous County of Xinjiang Taxkorgan, China and Gilgit Gilgit and Baltistan in Pakistan .
